So you like what you see, but you have a few questions?
Can I be in the photos with my pets?
Absolutely. We'll take two types of photos - the "fireplace portrait" where everyone is smiling at the camera and candid/lifestyle. How many and what type of images will be based on your comfort in front of the camera, and your face doesn't even have to show if you prefer to just make a cameo appearance (these can often be the most powerful images emotionally)! In preparation for your session, we'll also offer advice on what to wear to complement your pet, the location, and your style.
What if my dog/horse can't be off lead or won't hold still?
The biggest hesitation we hear is "my pet won't sit still for photos." No problem! Unless we are in an enclosed area such as our studio, or a controlled space at your home or barn, animals are kept on leads to ensure safety. We can remove the leads later.
Can you get good photos if my dog has black/dark fur?
Black/dark-faced dogs can be challenging to photograph with your phone. Never fear, we use lighting and editing to make every dog look their best.
Where is the best location for my dog photography session?
The setting of your pet photography session is an integral part of telling a story in your images. Our farm and studio is situated in east Texas. Our indoor studio is climate controlled for the year-round comfort of our clients and their pets and we also have many favorite spots around East Texas we love to shoot at. Do you have a favorite location? We'll work together to identify a meaningful setting that lends itself to creating artwork that fits the style of your home and the comfort of your pet.
What if the weather is bad the day of our session?
Don't worry, your retainer follows you to the next shoot! We will reschedule for the next available date if the skies are gloomy, winds are high, or it's raining. Or if you're up for an added touch of drama, we can discuss proceeding as long as conditions are safe!
Can I gift a pet photography session?
Absolutely! We'd be happy to set you up with a printed or digital gift certificate to surprise and delight the pet lover in your life.
Do you photograph outside the East Texas area?
Yes! Christina McAuley Photography has had the pleasure of traveling and serving private and commercial clients with our "Runway Sessions" and pet photography vacations. We'd be happy to discuss this with you.
How does your pet Model Database work?
Christina McAuley Photography works with private and commercial clients alike to create personality-filled images. When we work with companies to design a session that makes their products stand out from the crowd, we often source models from our database according to their specifications (breed, size, appearance, age, talents, etc). If a commercial client hires us for a project and your pet meets the initial specifications, we'll reach out to you to discuss whether your dog may be the right fit for the job!
